adopt a monarch

protect our pollinators

the butterfly greenhouse is a public benefit space designed to educate and encourage guests to conserve native butterfly species and plant native host and nectar plants. last year, we released over 4,000 butterflies into the butterfly greenhouse and hundreds of monarchs into the wild preparing for migration. as we continue to grow our reach and expand the programs provided at the kentucky botanical gardens, our pollinators will need your help.

through the adopt a monarch program, you can become a benefactor and butterfly guardian playing a vital role in their conservation. as a supporter of the butterfly greenhouse, you can symbolically adopt one of tagged monarchs we release at our monarch tag & release event and ensure their preservation. each level of adoption is adorned with its own array of exclusive benefits from native species guides to perennial host plants and t-shirts.

your involvement and generosity becomes a living testament to your love for these delicate creatures. by embracing this noble cause, you not only enrich your own life, but also contribute to the grand tapestry of butterfly conservation. together, let us protect and preserve the ethereal beauty of butterflies, ensuring their splendor endures for generations to come.
