protect our pollinators
the butterfly greenhouse is a public benefit space designed to educate and encourage guests to conserve native butterfly species and plant native host and nectar plants. last year, we released over 4,000 butterflies into the butterfly greenhouse and hundreds of monarchs into the wild preparing for migration. as we continue to grow our reach and expand the programs provided at the kentucky botanical gardens, our pollinators will need your help.
with the monarch tag & release, you can become a benefactor and butterfly guardian playing a vital role in the conservation of monarchs. symbolically adopt one of tagged monarchs and release it in a beautiful send off to the season.
each ticket gets you one tagged monarch to release, your monarch’s unique tracking number so you can keep up with its journey via citizen scientist “spotters”, and a day-pass into the butterfly greenhouse & lola children’s garden.
